Terms of Sale & Use
Last updated: 21 July 2026
Who we are
UtterKey is made and sold by AUTARKEA LTD, a company registered in England, trading as Risevance. Contact: hello@utterkey.com.
Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Creem, which handles payment and applicable taxes and appears on your receipt.
What you're buying
UtterKey is a desktop dictation application for macOS and Windows. A purchase gives you a perpetual licence to install and activate UtterKey on up to 3 devices that you use, across Mac and Windows. You can deactivate a device from Settings to free a slot.
Your licence includes updates within the purchased major version. Future major upgrades may be a paid, optional purchase.
Bring your own key
UtterKey works with an AI provider account that you hold (for example Groq or OpenAI). You need your own API key, and usage of that key is billed to you directly by the provider under their prices and terms. UtterKey has no control over provider pricing, availability, or output. Transcription quality depends on the provider and on your audio.
Fair use
Don't share, resell, or publish your licence key; don't attempt to bypass activation; don't use UtterKey for unlawful purposes. We may revoke licences that are resold or abused, and refund the purchase where the law requires.
Professional use — your responsibility
UtterKey converts speech into text. It does not check the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of what it types. If you use dictated output in professional contexts — medical, legal, financial or otherwise — you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it. UtterKey is a typing tool, not a medical device, legal adviser, or record-keeping system.
Warranty & liability
UtterKey is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with UtterKey is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee — see our Refund Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
